4 curious questions

Saturday, November 24, 2007

I've gotta keep this short since I have a boatload of studying left to do for my last exam and I need to stock up on sanity since my mother is finally meeting The Fiance's mother tomorrow. So this is an audience participation. Anonymous comments are fine, as long as they're not mean, so now I will ask you...

4 curious questions:

1. If you could have any car, regardless of gas prices, air polution, cost, insurance, etc, what would it be and what color would you get it in?

2. If you could only have one book for the rest of your life (bible not included, that's a cop-out), assuming no other entertainment would be around, which book would it be, and why?

3. Who would play you in a movie? Which actress would you play in a movie?

4. What was the greatest invention of the 20th or thus far the 21st century? and why?

Wow, Katie, those are really, really hard! Okay, I'll give it a try...

1) a red Sebring Convertible
2) "Little Women" - it's a decent length, and there are enough characters that I could spend lots of time imagining other details and futures for them
3) I don't know who would play me. All of those Hollywood types are too skinny! Julia Roberts could definitely do it, but she's so much prettier, it really wouldn't be fair. I could probably do a fair job as a young Kirstie Alley.
4) the mobile/cell phone; it plays such an important part in communications in other countries; we really under-utilize them in the USA

1) One of those red Priuses. With a custom paint job (no flames, but something distinctive).
2) Jane Eyre.
3) Meryl Streep, but she'd have to gain about 50 pounds and wear a extra chin prosthetic.
4) The vacuum tube.

Okay, I'll toss my hat in the ring:

1) I always said if I was wealthy I'd have a whole "fleet" of every kind of car I think is fun, which would include: a lime green VW Bug Convertible, a turquoise Thunderbird convertible, a blue Honda Element, a cream-colored PT Cruiser, a Black Dodge Durango, and a few others. But if I had to pick one, it would be a blue Chevy S10 short-box 4-door crew cab pick-up--which they no longer make, but which is still want.

2) If I was feeling smart, the dictionary. On most days, "The Cheerleader" by Ruth Doan MacDougall, which I first read in 1974 and which I've read at least once a year since, and usually a couple of times.

3) That's a tough one, because there are no actresses my size. In younger years, I was told once I looked like Adrienne Barbeau, and then someone else said Dinah Manoff. Like I said, this was many, many, many years ago. Also I don't think I could play anyone; I'm just not the actress type.

4) Cell phones, definitely.

Oh fun!

1) A Ferrari. In red, with black leather interior. And black racing stripes. With a hot Italian man in the passenger seat ;)
2) Is there a giant book filled with short trashy love stories? You said there would be no entertainment right?
3) Catherine Zeta-Jones for me (so what if I don't look like her?). I would like to play Elizabeth Taylor in a movie.
4)The Internet. Just because of the sheer volume of information we have at our fingertips.
